The area is known for great year-round bird-watching. In the Spring you can observe eagles fishing in 83 Mile Creek.

Green Lake is an ideal place for canoeing, waterskiing, fishing, and swimming.

You don't have to pan for gold during the fall in the South Cariboo; you will find it in the leaves of the birches and trembling aspens. One of the best routes to see leaves turning in the fall is from 70 Mile east to Green Lake.

The scenic trails of the South Cariboo provide exciting snowmobiling. Trails, maintained by local clubs from the 70 Mile / Green Lake area north of Spout Lake, join up to the Trans-Canada Snowmobile Trail.
